  Had a horribly humiliating, discriminatory experience here.
  
  Here's what happened. I was in the market for a new pair of glasses when my wife called Eye Care One and asked about what our new vision insurance (that we got from her job) covered and what it it didn't. The receptionist ran our insurance info and mentioned that it was accepted and then told her (my wife) directly on the phone what was covered, how'd it work, xyz. Everything was fine.
  
  I haven't mentioned the fact that my wife and I are both African American. (Which really isn't of any importance but in this case it directly affected my experience there.)
  
  So the following day, I make a trip over to Eye Care One to see about getting a new pair of glasses. Mind you, up until this point there was no issues. Immediately upon entering I was met by the receptionist (the same one who talked to my wife the day earlier) who who was very hostile and defensive in her conduct towards me. Initially she did not speak, but after attempting to browse she spoke as if she was trying to make me aware of the fact that she was watching me. Very frustrating.
  
  So finally after about 5 minutes I approached the receptionist and asked her to verify what options I had available with the insurance that we have through my wife's job. She took the card, tap a few keys on here computer and then proceeded to tell me that they do not accept our insurance. THE SAME EXACT INSURANCE INFORMATION MY WIFE GAVE HER AND SHE WAS ABLE TO GET QUOTES FOR IS NO LONGER ACCEPTED WITHIN A 24 HOUR TIME FRAME?!
  
  Needless to say that I was very annoyed with her. I then brought up the fact that my wife spoke with her on the phone yesterday about our plan, she ran the info, no problems. Even went as far as explaining what options we had, but now you don't accept my insurance? She told me that I can talk to I guess whoever in customer service about what happened but that there was nothing she could do. At that point I knew what time it was, it's not that my insurance was bad. If that was the case she would have told us yesterday. They didn't want to deal with me.
  
  I spoke no further, smiled and asked for my info back, and headed out the door to my laptop to order my glasses online.
  
  Bottom line, if you look a certain way (i.e. black) be prepared to get the run around if any service at all. Do yourself a favor and do not spend your money here!
